this tower is a landmark in my neighbourhood. it's a sewerage vent. get the smell up there and away from noses was the thinking behind it i guess. lincoln st highgate
That looks like Walter Burley Griffin's incinerators, though I can't find reference to it as one of his so I guess it's just of the same sort of era and school of design.

ahhhh okay, i've never heard of those, but I think this one's still used, cant bge 100% sure though
